All of us at Pfeil Hardware would like to thank all of you who have made our first three months in business in downtown Troy successful and enjoyable. It has been such fun to see people come into the store and start reminiscing about Stanleys, a department store that operated in our space from 1925 through 1989. Men remember buying their Boy Scout uniforms here. Women remember buying hosiery. Others stand in front of our huge historic photos over the paint department and identify each scene. Everyone seems happy that a new store is occupying this handsome space again.

The store is full of all kinds of things that can help you get through winter weather as well as help with routine electrical and plumbing repairs and household projects. We also have a good housewares department with lots of small appliances, kitchen implements, canning supplies, pots & pans, wine glasses, decorative platters and, of course, our Surprise Gifts department with a nice selection of gifts for everyone in your life, even your dog or cat! We are presently putting together our orders for Spring, which, if you can believe it, is only two and a half month’s away!

Please come in and visit Pfeil Hardware if you haven’t already. As independent retailers, we and our staff take great pleasure in talking with our customers and learning about their needs. While we can’t carry everything, we’ve tried to keep adding to our inventory so that downtown Troy residents, students, contractors and local businesses can do one-stop shopping for their hardware, houseware and painting needs.

Remember, we carry Benjamin Moore paints, including their new “green” line that includes Aura, Natura and Ben – all low or no-VOC paints that dry quickly and have little or no odor. And, we have the latest in color-matching computers. Just bring in your color sample (needs to be at least the size of a quarter) and we can match it!
