EXPERIENCED SALES ASSOCIATE – Seeking friendly, energetic and bright Sales Associate/Cashier for 20-30 hours per week. Solid retail experience required (hardware and/or building trade experience are desirable but not required). Experience with a POS system will be an advantage.

Pfeil Hardware & Paint Sales Associates are the store’s front line ambassadors. They interact with our customers in such a way as to encourage loyalty and repeat customer visits. They are largely responsible for making the store environment enjoyable, friendly and attractive to customers. The level and quality of assistance that they provide can have a major impact on the success of the store.

 

Requirements:

  • Retail hardware and/or building trade experience (plumbing, heating, electrical, carpentry etc.) is preferred; however, we are looking for someone with retail experience who is enthusiastic, motivated, serious about the job, a quick learner and reliable.
  • Must enjoy working with and giving good service to all customers – from students, tenants and homeowners to contractors and landlords.
  • Must be vigilant for shoplifters and other problems or situations that may occur
  • Must be physically able to help unload product (up to 50 lbs) from trucks, place merchandise on shelves and displays, and assist customers with obtaining products when necessary or requested.
  • Must be able to learn how to use the point of sale computer/cash register accurately and efficiently. Cashier skills helpful.
  • Must be able to learn how to use the various computers and machines needed to mix and shake paint.
  • Must be friendly, neat and courteous in person and on the store telephone at all times.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and follow directions.

Must be comfortable with working in a non-smoking environment. Customers and other employees must not be subjected to the odor of cigarette/cigar smoke at any time.

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of credit and background checks and drug testing.
