We carry some extra-special housewares and gift items under $50 that are appropriate for lots of occasions – from hostess gifts and fabulous candles to baby gifts – as well as just enjoyable and useful to have in your homes.

Spotlight on Summer House Natural Soaps

Pfeil Hardware carries Summer House Natural Soaps from Cape Cod in the Surprise Gift Department (Aisle 14). All of their soaps are lovingly made in small batches using the cold-process method, which preserves the beneficial qualities of their ingredients. Using the highest-quality vegetable oils, they mix their batters by hand and pour them into wooden molds which are wrapped in blankets for three days while the alchemy of saponification unfolds. After the soap sets, the bars are cut, cured for three weeks to further develop mildness, and beautifully wrapped in handmade papers.
Our customers love these soaps. Right now we have in stock Summer Hydrangea, Beach Rose, Vineyard Lilac, Ocean Scrub (with a little pumice worked in for tough jobs), Sweet Clementine, Lavender Rosemary, Bay Rum (a favorite for the guys) and Cape Cod Gardeners. We’ll be getting in a holiday selection later in the fall. These make wonderful hostess gifts!

New: Long-lasting, Battery-Operated Candles

Knowing that students can’t have real candles in dorm rooms, we’ve brought in some great battery-operated candles from Flipo They are quite amazing in that they are made of wax but have a flickering LED flame powered by two C batteries. They also have 4- and 8-hour timers on them. We’ve got simple ivory pillars in three sizes as well as some stunning hurricane candles. Come in and see.
